A provisional competition schedule for the 2018-2019 ski jumping season has been announced by the International Ski Federation (FIS).

The winter season is due to begin again in Wisla, with competition taking place in the Polish town during mid-November.

Wisla had hosted the opening event of 2017-2018 season.

An inaugural mixed team competition on a large hill is set to feature on the World Cup circuit for the first time.

The FIS revealed the event will take place at Titisee-Neustadt in Germany during the middle of December.

The traditional Four-Hills Tournament will take place around New Year, with the event featuring two competitions in Germany, before two in Austria.

It is billed as one of the major highlights of the season, with Poland’s Kamil Stoch the defending champion after becoming only the second athlete to win all four events in the same season.

The FIS Nordic Ski World Championships in Seefeld will then take place, with action scheduled to begin on February 19.

The Championships will run through until March 3.

A second edition of the Willingen Five is then set to take place, with the event in Poland seeing a qualification round held, before four competition rounds split over a further two days.

All rounds will contribute to a jumper’s overall score at the event, won by Stoch this year.

The men’s World Cup season will conclude with the Raw Air event in Norway, held in Oslo, Trondheim, Lillehammer, and Vikersund, before a final competition in Planica in Slovenia.

The FIS warned that the hills in Trondheim, Lillehammer, and Vikersund still need to obtain a valid hill certificate until the FIS Congress in order to remain on the calendar.

A women’s Raw Air event will feature for the first time on the World Cup calendar.

The women’s World Cup season is scheduled to start in late November or early December with the Lillehammer Triple.

The World Cup final is expected to be held on the large hill at Chaikovsky in Russia during late March.

The provisional competition calendars for the upcoming season was announced at the FIS Sub Committee meetings in Zurich.

The calendars remain subject to change until they are officially confirmed during their annual Congress in Costa Navarino in Greece from May 13 until 19.
