Japan's Yuka Ueno collected her second individual foil gold medal at the Junior and Cadets World Fencing Championships in Verona today.

Ueno won the junior title yesterday for under-20 fencers so was the favourite in today's under-17 cadet class.

She did not disappoint at the Cattolica Center in the Italian city, defeating American May Tieu in the final 15-7 to win gold.

Bronze medals were shared by beaten semi-finalists Delphine Devore of the United States and Italy's home fencer Martina Favaretto.

Ueno had beaten Favaretto in the final of the junior competition yesterday.

In the men's cadet foil event, the US did walk away with gold.

This was assured as Kenji Bravo and Marcello Olivares booked an all American final.

It was Bravo who came out on top, winning the gold medal contest 15-11.

Bronzes went to Maciej Bem of Poland and Mexico's Diego Cervantes.

More than 1,250 young fencers have descended on Verona for the International Fencing Federation event.

Team events in men's and women's junior foil will conclude the Championships tomorrow.
