Men's top seed Sameer Verma came from behind to reach the last four on quarter-finals day at the Badminton World Federation Orléans Masters.

The Indian disappointed the home French crowd by winning in three against eighth seed Lucas Corvée at the Palais des Sports.

Verma eventually won 17-21, 21-19, 21-15 to set-up a semi-final with fourth-seeded Dutchman Mark Caljouw.

He came through a tough two-game affair against Jan Ø. Jørgensen of Denmark, 24-22, 23-21.

Three of the top four seeds remain involved with only number two ranked Ygor Coelho de Oliveira of Brazil out of the competition.

Third-seeded Dane Rasmus Gemke progressed by beating fifth-seeded Indian Parupalli Kashyap 21-18, 21-14.

He will play home French player Lucas Claerbout who won an all unseeded affair against Germany's Alexander Roovers, 21-13, 19-21, 21-17.

In the women's event, second-seed Mia Blichfeldt of Denmark remains on course for the title with top ranked Beatriz Corrales of Spain a casualty in the first round.

Blichfeldt booked her semi-final spot by beating Natalia Perminova of Russia, 21-16, 21-17.

She will now play unseeded Indonesian Ruselli Hartawan after her 21-10, 17-21, 21-17 win over Kisona Selvaduray of Malaysia.

Chinese qualifier Qi Xuefei came from behind to remain in the competition, knocking out seventh seed Neslihan Yiğit of Turkey 17-21, 21-16, 21-11.

Her reward is a semi-final with another unseeded player in Japan's Shiori Saito, who was a 21-15, 21-17 winner over Indonesian eighth seed Gregoria Mariska Tunjung.

The semi-finals will be played at the Super 100 World Tour event tomorrow.
