South Korea's Gu Bon-gil is eyeing home success at the International Fencing Federation Sabre Grand Prix in Seoul, which begins tomorrow.

The 28-year-old, who won team Olympic gold at London 2012 and individual silver at last year's World Championships in Leipzig, is in good form after winning February's World Cup competition in Varsovie in Poland.

He faces strong competition at the SK Handball Gym, however, with a pair of Hungarians perhaps his biggest challengers.

Reigning Olympic champion Áron Szilágyi will compete after his gold at the Rio 2016 Games, while Leipzig world champion András Szatmári is also among the entries.

In the women's event, Romania's Bianca Pascu will be one to watch after winning the World Cup event in Greek capital Athens on March 18.

Ukraine's reigning world champion Olga Kharlan, a team Olympic champion at Beijing 2008, has also made the trip to South Korea.

Action in the 1988 Summer Olympic host city will take place until Sunday (April 1).
