Kristen Vanderveen earned victory at the International Equestrian Federation World Cup Jumping event in Ocala.

The American was one of three riders to produce a clear round at the Live Oak Plantation, setting up a jump-off for the podium places.

Vanderveen, riding on Bull Run's Faustino de Tili, would be the first rider to head back to the course.

She achieved a time of 45.93 seconds, laying down a strong marker for her rivals.

Fellow American Brianne Goutal finished with the second best time of 52.99, riding on horse Viva Colombia.

The podium was rounded off by Switzerland’s Beat Mändli, after he picked up two penalties on Galan S in the jump off.

The victory ensured Vanderveen would qualify for the World Cup Finals in Paris.

"It's really very surreal for me right now," said Vanderveen.

"I've always wanted to go to World Cup Finals, and this was a little bit of a last minute decision to come here and see if I could do something special today and get in.

"There were only three of us, so I figured I'd play it out fast as we could and see what happened.

"He fired for me, and he shined for me in the jump-off."
