The Pole, a triple Olympic gold medallist, edged closer to winning the overall World Cup crown as he triumphed on the Norwegian hill.

Today's event was also the third competition of the Raw Air Tournament - which features World Cups on four Norwegian hills - with Stoch in pole position to win this title as well as he backed-up his earlier victory in Lillehammer.

He jumped a record 146 metres today on the large hill, scoring 285.4 points when coupled with his second jump of 141m.

Second place went to Austria's defending overall World Cup champion Stefan Kraft, who managed jumps of 141.5m and 138m for 268.4 points.

Bronze was won by home Norwegian jumper Robert Johansson, who ended on 268.0 points after leaping 145.5m and 136m.

"It's a great feeling that I'm still leading the Raw Air and my jumps are on a really good level," said Stoch.

"These two jumps here over 140 metres were great and I really enjoyed the time in the air." 

Stoch, the Four Hills Tournament winner this term and the Olympic large hill gold medallist at Pyeongchang 2018 last month, has 1,203 points at the top of the World Cup standings with just three competitions remaining.

There are 100 points available for a win with Germany's Richard Freitag currently Stoch's nearest challenger on 958.

It means the Pole could only be surpassed at the last World Cup of the season in Planica, and even this seems unlikely.

On the Raw Air leaderboard, Stoch has 1582.3 points to lead Johansson who boasts 1494.7.

Both the World Cup and Raw Air seasons will continue tomorrow with qualifying in Vikersund.

Action will take place on the ski flying hill.

"Ski flying is always exciting, so I will just try to have fun in Vikersund," said Stoch.

"I will try to do my best and we'll see how it goes there."
