Silje Norendal led women's qualification at the International Ski Federation Snowboard Slopestyle World Cup in Seiseralm, but the men's event was postponed.

Norway’s Norendal headed the women’s field having achieved a score of 82.18 points on her second run of the competition at the Italian resort.

She was followed by Canada’s Brooke Voigt and The Netherlands’ Cheryl Maas, who managed 72.50 and 72.05 points.

Japan’s Miyabi Onitsuka was the only other athlete over the 70 point mark, with her second run earning a score of 71.48.

Czech Republic’s Sarka Pancochova and Russia’s Sofya Fedorova clinched the final places in the final, having managed scores of 68.21 and 66.33 to complete the top six.

Men’s qualification was also due to go ahead, but organisers were forced to delay the start due to poor visibility.

They were eventually forced to postpone qualifying, which may now go ahead after tomorrow’s ski slopestyle finals.

Tomorrow will also see the final single and team events of the Snowboard Cross World Cup season get underway in Veysonnaz.

Qualification is set to be the focus of action on the opening day, with individual finals following on Saturday (March 17).

Olympic champions Michela Moioli of Italy and France’s Pierre Vaultier have already earned the women’s and men’s World Cup titles respectively.

Competition will come to an end on Sunday (March 18) with the team event at the Swiss venue.
