Cherif Younousse and Tajin Ahmed continued their winning form on home sand to progress to the semi-finals of the International Volleyball Federation Beach World Tour event in Doha.

The Qatari duo won three matches today at the Katara Cultural Village in the country's capital.

This culminated in a fightback from a set down against Poland's Michal Bryl and Grzegorz Fijalek to reach the semi-finals.

They lost the first set 15-21 before winning the next two 21-15, 15-10.

"I'm so tired, but I gave my best until we got there," Tijan said.

"It will be the same tomorrow and we will give our best to be in the final because it is a beautiful venue and I want to carry on playing here.

"In the first set the guys were serving so well and that made receiving hard.

"But we started to play better in the second set and used our service to pressure them."

Dutch duo Alex Brouwer and Robert Meeuwsen lie in wait next after they won a thrilling quarter-final against Saymon Santos and Alvaro Filho of Brazil.

They lost a nailbiting second set before edging the third in a 19-21, 21-19, 22-20 victory.
