The United States have announced their rosters for the skiing and snowboard teams set to compete at March's Winter Paralympics in Pyeongchang.

Four Paralympic and eight World Cup medallists have been included in the snowboarding team, which won four medals at Sochi 2014.

The headline names in the men's team are Evan Strong, Mike Shea and Keith Gabel, who completed a podium clean sweep in the lower limb two snowboard cross category at the Paralympics four years ago.

However, a lot will also be expected of Brenna Huckaby and Mike Minor, who both won world titles in 2017.

Amy Purdy, who will compete in the lower limb category one, is the biggest medal hope on the five-strong women's team.

Director of US Paralympics for Alpine skiing and snowboarding Kevin Jardine expressed his excitement at the upcoming Games.

"After the successful showing we had in Sochi, I am incredibly excited to see what this group is capable of in Pyeongchang," he said.

"Our strength comes from our experience, drive and depth, which will prove to be important with a sport and international field that have grown immensely over the last four years.

"Every one of our athletes is a medal contender and it makes me proud to see the level in which they've pushed this programme heading into the Paralympics."

The US Paralympic Alpine skiing line-up is made up of 23 athletes, including four Paralympic medallists.

Six-time medallist Laurie Stephens is the most decorated athlete on the list and is set to compete in her fourth Paralympics.

Mark Bathum, a three-time silver Paralympic medallist, will be looking to go one step further in Pyeongchang.

As is the case with the snowboard squad, several world champions are also on the Alpine skiing team including Andrew Kurka, who secured the overall super-G and downhill titles in the LW12-1 class last year.

Jardine said he was pleased with the balance of the skiing squad heading to South Korea.

"After four years of preparation, our team is ready to prove themselves at the pinnacle of Paralympic competition," he said.

"We have a great balance of veterans who know what it takes to succeed at the highest level as well as younger talent who are eager to make a name for themselves.

"I feel confident that our team will rise to the occasion and look forward to seeing which athletes have breakout performances for Team USA."

The Pyeongchang 2018 Paralympics will take place from March 8 to 18.
