The National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of Japan and Slovenia have entered into a partnership agreement during Pyeongchang 2018 here.

A signing ceremony was held at the Slovenian House in the South Korean county.

As part of the agreement, both parties intend to actively support officials, staff, its own athletes and coaches to have exchange programmes and opportunities.

They will also exchange marketing knowledge and information, and share information on the Olympic Movement.

"To achieve this goal, both parties will regularly exchange information and good practices," a Japanese Olympic Committee (JOC) statement reads.

Among those in attendance at the signing ceremony were Slovenian Olympic Committee (OKS) President Bogdan Gabrovec and JOC counterpart Tsunekazu Takeda, an International Olympic Committee member.

The OKS delegation also included secretary general Blaž Perko as well as Simona Leskovar, the Ambassador of Slovenia to Japan, and Maja Makovec Brenčič, Slovenia’s Minister of Science, Education and Sport.

Joining Takeda in the JOC delegation were Eisuke Hiraoka, vice-president and secretary general, and Keisuke Muratsu, an Executive Board member.

The JOC has already signed similar agreements with 41 NOCs.
