Potential participants at the 2018 British National Alpine Ski Championships can now apply for places at the competition, which is heading to the French ski resort of Tignes for a fourth straight year.

The senior and junior races in Tignes will take place from March 25 to April 1 with under-16, under-14, under-12 and under-10 competition events scheduled for the following week from April 2 to 6.

Jamie Ritblat, the founder and chairman of Delancey, the main sponsor of British Ski and Snowboard, said he was looking forward to the competition.

"The excitement around British snowsports has never been higher which makes me so pleased that Delancey is back on board for the 2018 British National Alpine Championships in Tignes," he said.

"I know a lot of work has already gone in behind the scenes to ensure the event is a great success, from the office staff to those who will be working on the hill during the event.

"It is no coincidence that as the performances at the National Championships continue to rise, so do the performances of British Alpine skiers on the world stage."

The Championships will come after the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics, which opened today.

Britain are looking for some positive results on the slopes in South Korea.

"With Dave Ryding, Alex Tilley, Charlie Guest and Laurie Taylor off to South Korea to represent Great Britain, it is timely to remember their fantastic performances at this event over the past years, and maybe in 2018 we will see some Olympians of the future make their mark at the National Championships for the first time," Ritblat added.
