American athletes look poised to secure overall World Para Snowboard World Cup titles as the series draws to a close in Big White, Canada.

Competition will begin tomorrow with three Americans heading men's categories following three of the four World Cup events.

Mike Shea currently heads the men's SB-LL2 standings prior to the final days of racing, but will expect to face competition from Finland's reigning world champion Matti Suur-Hamari.

The Finnish snowboarder is also in a battle with American Evan Strong in the snowboard cross SB-LL2 discipline.

It is expected that the winner of the concluding event will ultimately collect the overall title.

Mike Schultz is the clear favourite to win the SB-LL1 overall standings and snowboard cross event titles in Canada.

The American earned two victories in Pyha, which put him in pole position to take the honours.

His compatriot Mike Minor could seal the men's SB-UL title with a strong performance, although France’s Maxime Montaggioni may prove a threat.

France's Cecile Hernandez-Cervellon is on course to earn the women's SB-LL1 title for the fourth straight year, although she will have to hold off the US' reigning world champion Brenna Huckaby.

Both snowboarders could also earn banked slalom and snowboard cross crowns, with American Nicole Roundy still in contention for the latter.

The Netherlands' Lisa Bunschoten will hope to complete an unbeaten World Cup season in the women's SB-LL2 category to earn a second straight overall title.

Competition will begin tomorrow with snowboard cross providing the focus, before banked slalom on Thursday (February).

It will be the final chance snowboarders have to hone their Pyeongchang 2018 Paralympic preparations in a competitive setting.
