The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) have appointed Vikram Singh Sisodia as Chef de Mission for the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast.

Sisodia is currently the joint secretary of the IOA.

Namdev Shirgaonka, general secretary of the Modern Pentathlon Federation of India, Ajay Naarang, chairman of the Event Committee of the Asian Sailing Federation, and VA Shiyad, secretary general of the Andaman and Nicobar State Olympic Association, have been appointed as team managers for the Games in Australia.

They will all help Sisodia with day-to-day duties during Gold Coast 2018.

As reported by Punjab News Express, after the announcement IOA President Narinder Batra said: "The officials nominated by IOA deserve this opportunity.

"I am sure they would take good care of the Indian contingent.

"I wish them all great Games."

IOA secretary general Rajeev Mehta added: "Though the job is new to Sisodia and his team of officials, I know their capabilities as administrators.

"I am quite assured they will carry out their duties to the satisfaction of all concerned."

India are fourth in the overall Commonwealth Games medal table with 438 medals in total.

The Games in Gold Coast will take place from April 4 to 15.
