The Brazilian Confederation of Fitness and Bodybuilding (CBMFF) met with the country's Sports Minister Leonardo Picciani to discuss the future of the sport in the South American nation.

Mauricio de Arruda, President of the CBMFF, held talks with Picciani alongside Alexandre Bortolato, a legal counsel member from the International Federation of Fitness and Bodybuilding (IFBB).

De Arruba informed about the latest CBMFF activities and the discussions looked ahead to major events which are on the calendar.

This includes the 2019 Pan American Games in Peru's capital Lima.

Brazil is also due to host the IFBB Elite Pro event in Goias between March 9 and 11 this year before the Arnold Classic South America in São Paulo between April 20 and 22.

Picciani congratulated the CBMFF for its work and wished success for Brazilian athletes who will compete at the upcoming competitions.

The CBMFF is recognised by the Brazilian Ministry of Sports and the Brazilian Olympic Committee, as well as the South American Bodybuilding Confederation and the IFBB.
