Tignes is set to stage the penultimate event of the World Para Alpine Skiing World Cup, with competition due to begin tomorrow.

Action at the French resort is scheduled to place until Friday (January 26) as skiers continue their preparations for the Winter Paralympic Games in Pyeongchang.

Downhill skiing will prove the focus of the opening two days of the event, with men’s and women’s skiers competing in visually impaired, sitting and standing disciplines.

Following the two downhill competitions, attention will then turn to super-G races for the remainder of the World Cup.

France will hope to use home advantage to good effect, with Tignes the training base for their national teams in Para alpine and Nordic skiing teams.
