World Para Alpine Skiing have announced that the second day of the World Cup event in Veysonnaz has been cancelled due to bad weather.

Several athletes, including France’s Marie Bochet, winner of four Paralympic gold medals at Sochi 2014, and in-form Norwegian teenager Jesper Pedersen were hoping to keep up their good form after victories yesterday.

The event in Switzerland had, however, to be called off due to "unsafe weather conditions".

In a post on social media, World Para Alpine Skiing claimed they expect tomorrow’s racing to go ahead as planned.

The competition began yesterday and is scheduled to conclude on Thursday (January 18).
