Brazil's Ágatha Bednarczuk and partner Duda enjoyed a straightforward victory as main draw action began at the International Volleyball Federation Beach World Tour event in The Hague.

Bednarczuk, an Olympic silver medallist at Rio 2016, and Duda beat Ksenia Dabizha and Yulia Abalakina of Russia 21-12, 21-12 Pool D of the women's tournament at the SportsCampus Zuiderpark Indoor Arena.

Their compatriots Bárbara Seixas, who partnered Bednarczuk to the silver medal at Rio 2016, and Fernanda Alves also enjoyed a winning start to their campaign at the Dela Beach Open.

Seixas and Alves overcame Varapatsorn Radarong and Tanarattha Udomchavee of Thailand 21-15, 21-15 in their opening Pool G contest.

Brooke Sweat and Summer Ross of the United States were also winners in Pool G, sweeping aside Spain's Amaranta Fernández Navarro and Angela Lobato Herrero 21-16, 21-9.

America's April Ross and Alexandra Klineman came through a tough second set to defeat Lithuania's Ieva Dumbauskaite and Monika Povilaityte 21-15, 24-22.

The result saw them join Bednarczuk and Duda in claiming victory in their first Pool D encounter.

In the men's main draw, Qatar's Ahmed Tijan and Cherif Younousse made a confident start to their campaign with a 21-14, 21-18 victory over France's Maxime Thiercy and Arnaud Gauthier-Rat.

Norways Anders Berntsen Mol and Christian Sandlie Sørum also emerged victorious in the other match in Pool H, proving too strong for Latvia's Aleksandrs Solovejs and Rihards Finsters with a 21-16, 21-16 success.

Action in the men's and women's main draws is due to continue tomorrow.
