Belgium finished at the summit of Pool A with victory over The Netherlands as Spain stunned Olympic champions Argentina at the Men's Hockey World League Final in Bhubaneswar.

The Belgian side, the Olympic silver medallists, cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win over the European champions to secure top spot at the Kalinga Stadium.

It came after Spain produced a superb display to claim a shock 2-1 comeback win against Rio 2016 gold medallists Argentina.

The result saw Spain take second place and condemned Argentina to third, one place above The Netherlands.

The quarter-final line-up has now been confirmed following the conclusion of the group stages.

Belgium's reward for finishing top of Pool A is a meeting with India, while Spain will take on defending champions Australia.

Both matches are scheduled to take place tomorrow.

Argentina will take on England and Pool B winners Germany go up against The Netherlands on Thursday (December 7).

Spain were the dominant force for the majority of the first two quarters in their meeting with Argentina but the South American side struck first through a rasping effort from Matias Paredes.

The European team continued to create chances but had to wait until the fourth quarter to turn the match on its head.

Pau Quemada's penalty corner restored parity for Spain before Josep Romeu completed the turnaround barely two minutes later.

"It is the first time we have played against Argentina since the quarter-finals of the Rio Olympics, and it was a big fight so we are very happy to have taken three points today," Spain captain Miguel Delas said.

"We knew we were doing things well so we focused on that.

"We showed good patience to wait for our chances to score and I’m proud of that.”

Belgium then swept aside The Netherlands with another ruthless performance to record their third straight victory and ensure they completed the group stage with a 100 per cent record.

Loick Luypaert, the tournament's top scorer, found the net twice and Tom Boon also got on the scoresheet to guide their side to a straightforward win.
