American wrestlers claimed six victories from 10 bouts against Japan at the fourth edition of the Beat the Streets Los Angeles benefit event.

The competition in the city due to host the 2028 Olympic Games was arranged raise money for the Beat the Streets non-profit organisation.

Their main programme features wrestling events alongside leadership building activities and personal mentoring in 24 schools and neighborhood training centres.

More than 650 boys and girls are claimed the benefit from the organisation’s summer futures camp and downtown Los Angeles wrestling academy on an annual basis.

Around 700 fans at the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center saw Adeline Gray make her return to competition, following a year's absence.

The three-time world champion overcame Mei Shindo by a technical fall verdict in their 72 kilogram bout during one of the highlights of the day.

There was a victory for Kayla Miracle in the 57kg class as she saw off the challenge of Japan’s Yoshimi Kayama impressively by a 10-4 score.

Victoria Anthony and Sarah Hildebrandt added to the American team’s victories in the 50kg and 53kg divisions, with the pair earning technical fall wins over Kika Kagata and Yuri Yonamine respectively.

Mallory Velte then earned a 6-0 win over Japan’s Atena Kodama in the 62kg event, before Tamyra Mensah-Stock clinched a technical fall success against Mai Hayakawa of Japan in the 68kg bout.

Japan also secured four victories of their own in the exhibition event, as Andoria Hanako Sawa comfortably beat Gracie Figueroa by a technical fall verdict in the 55kg bout.

Her success was followed by a 5-2 win for Kiwa Sakae over Alli Ragan in the 59kg division.

Miwa Morikawa enjoyed an 11-2 win over Maya Nelson in the 65kg event before her team-mate Rino Abo overcame Victoria Francis 7-2 in the 76kg division.

Following the competition, a benefit celebration at the Japanese American National Museum to raise money for Beat the Streets.
