Hosts Tunisia claimed two senior gold medals on the final day of action at the African Rowing Championships in Tunis.

The home nation won both the men's and women's single sculls finals at the Tunis Lake International Development Rowing Centre.

Mohamed Taieb secured the men's title in a time of 7min 14.36sec.

He placed 27th at last year's Olympic Games but claimed a comfortable victory over his African rivals today.

Algeria's Oussama Habbiche took the silver medal in 7:17.25 and Privel Hinkati of Benin the bronze in 7:55.84.

There was further joy for the hosts in the women's equivalent when Khadija Krimi crossed the line first in 8:04.09.

Tunisia's Mohamed Khalil Mansouri and Iskander Cherni finished second in 7:01:63 and Morocco's duo Oussama Faqir and Abdelhak Ellamman third in 7:26:89.
