Peineau beat Denmark’s Stephan Hansen to the men’s gold medal at the Zócalo.

He did so in a shoot-off following a 143-143 draw. 

It came after the United States’ Braden Gellenthien had clinched the bronze medal with a 147-143 win over France’s Pierre-Julien Deloche.

Song, meanwhile, defeated Turkey’s Yesim Bostan 145-143 to secure the women’s crown.

"This is my first big stage," the 21-year-old said.

"It feels so good.

"There's no other words to describe it."

Germany’s Kristina Heigenhauser rounded out the podium thanks to a 145-144 victory over Denmark’s Sarah Sonnichsen.

In the women’s team final, Colombia’s Sara Lopez, Alejandra Usquiano and Nora Valdez beat India’s Lily Chanu Paonam, Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Trisha Deb to claim their country’s second world title in the event.

The match finished 234-228 in their favour.

South Korea, who were represented by Song, So Chaewon and Choi Bomin, took the bronze medal over Germany with a 235-227 win.

The men’s compound team event saw the US triumph for the seventh time in 12 editions of the World Championships, beating Italy 235-228 in the final.

It meant they reclaimed the title they held undefeated from 2003 through to 2011.

The team was made up of Kristoffer Schaff, Steve Anderson and Gellenthien, who took his sixth team gold in eight championships

Italy’s Alberto Simonelli became only the second Para-athlete in history to win a medal at the World Archery Championships, after the US’s Kevin Polish in 2005.

The two-time Paralympic silver medallist’s team-mates were Sergio Pagni and Federico Pagnoni.

Colombia’s Sebastian Arenas, Camilo Andres Cardona and Daniel Munoz beat Croatia to the bronze medal.

Following a 229-229 draw, they posted a perfect 30 points in the shoot-off.

South Korea's Song and Kim Jongho were the mixed team compound gold medallists after beating Germany's Heigenhauser and Marcel Trachsel 156-149.

The bronze medal went to Italy's Irene Franchini and Pagni, who defeated The Netherlands' Sanne De Laat and Mike Schloesser 156-151.
