Zagreb will host the International Judo Federation (IJF) Junior World Championships from tomorrow.

The Croatian capital will host 590 judoka from 83 countries at Dom Sportova.

Some of the young talent on show is expected to make an impact at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

"I would like to thank the Croatian Judo Federation for hosting this competition and showing us great hospitality and commitment to the development of judo in this country, across Europe and throughout the world," said IJF President Marius Vizer.

Eight divisions for men and eight for women will be contested over five days until Sunday (October 22).

The draw for the tournament was held today in Zagreb, a regular host on the IJF Grand Prix circuit.

Action will begin tomorrow with the men's under-55 kilograms and under-60kg and the women's under-44kg and under-48kg.

On the final day the mixed team competition, which has been accepted to make its Olympic debut at Tokyo 2020, will bring the action to a close.
