International Ski Federation (FIS) officials have carried out an inspection on the site for next year's Snowboard Cross World Cup leg in Feldberg, which will host the sport's last event prior to the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympic Games.

The snowboard cross team met with organisers during their visit to the sole German stop on the 2017-2018 calendar.

After visiting the race hill, officials agreed that the course for the third edition of the event, scheduled to take place from February 2 to 4, will be built based on the existing course layout.

"The course map of last year will be valid again," FIS race director Uwe Beier said.

Back-to-back men's and women's races are due to be held in Feldberg, featuring finals staged in heats of six.

Pyeongchang 2018 is set to begin five days after the conclusion of competition in Germany.

Men's and women's snowboard cross competitions account for two of the 10 individual snowboard events on the sports programme in South Korea.

Competition will also take place across both sexes in parallel giant slalom, halfpipe, big air and slopestyle.

Big air will make its Olympic debut at Pyeongchang 2018.

Parallel slalom was removed from the Olympic programme.
