China continued their emphatic start to their mixed team title defence at the Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Junior Championships in Yogyakarta by qualifying for the quarter-finals with ease today.

The Chinese bid for back-to-back Suhandinata Cups continued to gather momentum as they brushed aside Chinese Taipei 4-1 to advance from Group G at the GOR Among Rogo Arena.

Fan Qiuyue and Liu Xuanxuan claimed China's first point with a 21-17, 21-18 win over Chia Hao Lee and Teng Chun Hsun.

In the men's singles, Zhengze Gao registered a second win for China as he beat Lin Chun-Yi 21-8, 16-21, 21-13 before Han Yue sealed the victory by overcoming Lin Jhih Yun 21-13, 21-18.

Lu Chen and Ye Hong Wei recovered some pride for Chinese Taipei as they won the men's doubles rubber against Di Zijian and Wang Chang 21-17, 22-20.

Liu and Yuting Xia then wrapped up the 4-1 victory for China as they won the women's doubles against Li Zi Qing and Teng Chun Hsun 21-11, 21-17.

Awaiting China in the last eight will be hosts Indonesia.

They defeated Spain 3-0 today to book their quarter-final berth.

Muhammad Shohibul Fikri and Adnan Maulana won Indonesia's first point with a 21-12, 21-14 win over Jose Molares and Alvaro Vazquez in the men's doubles.

Aurum Oktavia Winata then won the women's singles match against Sara Penalver Pereira 21-12, 21-17.

Gatjra Piliang Fiqihilahi Cupu wrapped up the match after he brushed aside Alex Alcala Dominguez 21-13, 21-11.

Japan have also made it through to the last eight as they beat England 4-1 while Thailand will be their opposition after they recorded a 3-0 win over Belgium.

Top seeds South Korea will take on France, the only European nation left in the competition, tomorrow after both teams advanced yesterday.

The fourth quarter-final will see Malaysia face India.
