The International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS) has announced that Ty Francis will join as its new chief global business development officer.

He previously worked for the Ethisphere Institute, where he was responsible for long-term strategy and revenue growth across global programmes.

The Institute is a body designed to advance ethical business practices.

In his new role, Francis will work under ICSS Enterprise, as well as across the ICSS Group, to support ICSS Insight and the Save the Dream Foundation.

His remit is to drive the global business strategy of the company and support the development of its portfolio of products, training and advisory services in the field of sport safety, security and integrity.

This includes data-fusion technology, the ICSS Special Investigations Unit (SIU) as well as professional training and strategic advisory services in sport safety and major event security.

A former vice-president of NYSE Governance Services, a division of the New York Stock Exchange, he was the chief revenue driver for its corporate board members.

In 2014, the Cardiff-born Francis was appointed as a business advocate for the Americas by Carwyn Jones, First Minister of Wales, to further Welsh culture, business and investment, resulting in his appointment this year as a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II in recognition of services to promoting business in Wales.

"I am really looking forward to further promoting the ICSS’ significant and unique range of services including the pioneering new products and services the ICSS is now developing.”

Shaun McCarthy, ICSS Enterprise chief executive, added: "Ty comes on board at a pivotal moment.

"We are poised to go to market with a number of innovative products and services and Ty's experience and relationships are key to our business development strategy.

"I look forward to working with Ty and he will be a valuable addition to the entire organisation."

Francis, an advisory Board member for Women in the Boardroom Inc, which helps women to advance in their careers, is a graduate of England's Southampton Solent University.

A dual British and United States national, he has also attended Stanford Law School's Directors' College, and lives in New York City.
