Caribbean Football Union (CFU) President Gordon Derrick has been handed a six-year ban from all football activity by FIFA.

Derrick was found to be guilty of breaching rules concerning offering and accepting gifts, as well as conflicts of interest and loyalty.

He was also found to have breached general rules of conduct in the FIFA Code of Ethics.

The governing body's Ethics Committee additionally charged the official with breaching articles related to duty of disclosure, cooperation and reporting, as well as the obligation of parties to collaborate in the proceedings.

The CFU President also serves as the general secretary of the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association, but will be unable to hold football-related roles at national or international level for six-years.

Derrick has also been fined CHF30,000 (£23,000/$31,000/€26,000).

Formal proceedings were launched against Derrick in April.

The Antiguan was ruled out of the race for the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football Presidency for failing an integrity check.

He claimed the reason was to do with his involvement in the cash for votes scandal in the FIFA Presidential election in 2011.

Derrick was reprimanded by world football’s governing body and fined CHF300 (£233/$302/€277) after Qatar’s Mohamed bin Hammam, who attempted to challenge then incumbent Sepp Blatter for the top job in the sport that year before withdrawing three days before the vote, offered money to several CFU members in an attempt to win their votes.

The CFU head unsuccessfully appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport over not being able to stand in the election, eventually won by Canada's Victor Montagliani.

Back in January, it was announced that the CFU were in discussions concerning the possibility of breaking away from the CONCACAF, with the move spearheaded by Derrick.
