Snooker legend Jimmy White held a meeting with International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) President Mubarak Al-Khayarin in Qatar.

The 55-year-old Englishman, who still plays on the World Snooker circuit with an invitational tour card, was in the Gulf nation overseeing Qatar Snooker's training programme.

He used his visit to meet with Al-Khayarin in Qatari capital city Doha.

According to the IBSF, the pair discussed "in length" about snooker.

The governing body welcomed the meeting which they saw will help the organisation going forward.

"This meeting will be helpful in future programmes of the IBSF," a statement said.

White has won ten ranking titles during his snooker career, with his victories including the UK Championship and Masters.

The World Championship has always eluded him, however.

He has reached the final on six occasions but lost every time.

White has won world titles at six-red, senior and doubles events.
