The 21-year-old already boasts bronze medals from Sochi 2014 in the women's super-G standing and women's super combined.

She is known as "Hopper" after doing a one-legged hop onto the podium at the Games in Russia.

However, an ankle injury means she was unable to start training for Pyeongchang until November.

Her doctor has recommended surgery but that would rule her out of the action in South Korea in March.

She still took part in the 2017 World Championships in Tarvisio but did not win a medal.

"My plan is to possibly do the surgery after Pyeongchang and go from there," Jallen said to the International Paralympic Committee website.

"It often prevents me from training on and off the snow so it's been a setback. 

"I am doing everything I can with rehab and strength training to make my ankle as strong as possible so I can last the whole season."
