Hosts Italy won the five hoops title on the final day of the International Gymnastics Federation Rhythmic World Championships as Russia were denied a clean sweep of gold medals in Pesaro.

The Russians did win the three ropes/two balls crown at the Adriatic Arena today and end the event having won seven out of the eight titles available.

The Italians delighted their home fans, however, by ensuring that another national anthem would be played for the first time at the event.

Their team of Martina Centofanti, Agnese Duranti, Alessia Maurelli, Maria Santandrea and Beatrice Tornatore finished on a winning tally of 18.900 points.

They scored 8.900 for their execution after taking on a difficulty rating of 10.000.

Russia won silver as Anastasia Bliznyuk, Maria Tolkacheva, Anastasia Tatareva, Ksenia Poliakova and Mariia Kravtsova joined forces.

All five were part of the six-strong line-up which won the group all-around title yesterday and they finished the five hoops on 18.700.

Japan's Mao Kunii, Rie Matsubara, Sayuri Sugimoto, Ayuka Suzuki and Nanami Takenaka - who were all part of the all-around bronze medal-winning sextet - were third again on 18.600.

Bliznyuk, Tolkacheva, Tatareva and Kravtsova did clinch a second gold in the three ropes/two balls.

This time Evgenia Levanova, also a team all-around champion, replaced Poliakova.

They earned an execution score of 8.900 from a difficulty of 10.000 to win on 18.900.

Matsubara, Sugimoto, Suzuki and Takenaka returned with Kiko Yokota to clinch silver on 18.650.

The bronze medal was won by Bulgaria's Teodora Aleksandrova, Elena Bineva, Simona Dyankova, Madlen Radukanova and Laura Traets.

They were all members of the team all-around silver medal winning squad.

All of the individual titles in Pesaro were shared by Russia's 19-year-old identical twins Dina and Arina Averina.
