Youssef Mansour won a home gold medal for Egypt as the World Taekwondo Cadet Championships continued in Sharm El-Sheikh.

He triumphed in the under-37 kilograms category to delight the crowd at the Youth and Sports Olympic Hall in the Red Sea city.

Mansour defeated Thailand's Thawin Yaengkulchow in the final to seal his victory.

Bronze medals were shared by Uzbekistan's Amirbek Turaev and Riyad Shiraliyev of Azerbaijan.

Thailand did taste gold in the girls' under-41kg division to secure a third title at the competition after just two days.

It came courtesy of Chu Jongkolrattanawattana, who was too strong for Iran's Mobina Kalivand in the gold medal contest.

Tunisia and Ukraine won bronzes thanks to El Ghild Karima and Karina Klivak respectively.

Mexico, Iran and Russia also won gold medals on day two of the Championships, which are for competitors between 12 and 14.

Luis Salazar triumphed for Mexico in the boys' under-33kg event, defeating Spain's Dejan Ison Arconado for gold.

South Korea's Woo-hyeok Jon clinched bronze alongside Uzbek Daniil Kim.

Iran's gold was their second of the event so far as Ghazal Soltani prevailed in the girls' under-47kg class.

Isil Zafer of Turkey had to settle for the silver medal.

Uzbekistan added to their medal tally with Umidakhon Khasanova taking bronze, alongside Clara Maria Pacheco of Brazil.

Khanmagomed Ramazanov sealed Russian gold with success in the boys' under-53kg division. 

Mahmut Kusku of Turkey was beaten in the final as Szymon Piatkowski of Poland and Seung-hyun Jeon of South Korea won bronzes.

The Championships will continue with the penultimate day tomorrow.
