Mumbai will host the first edition of the Olympia Amateur India in October, it has been announced.

Competition is scheduled to take place from October 13 to 15 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) have announced.

The event will be open to competitors from all IFBB affiliated National Federations from Asia, with competition organised by Asian Business Exhibition & Conferences.

They will be assisted by the Indian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation for the duration of the three day event.

A weight in and registration is due to take place on October 13, with classic bodyweight and women’s physique contested the following day.

Four classic bodybuilding height categories and two women’s physique will feature.

Six bodybuilding categories will then be held on October 15, with four height categories in men’s physique and bikini fitness also taking place.

It will be the first time the Amateur Olympia series will have an event held in India.

The competition will offer a total of five pro cards for the overall winners.

A fitness exhibition will complete the full programme of activities at the event.
