South Korean duo Kim Woojin and Jongho Kim are set to meet in the final of men's recurve competition at the Archery World Cup leg in the German capital Berlin.

Kim and Jongho safely progressed through their semi-final matches today held alongside the Olympiastadion, centrepiece of the 1936 Olympic Games. 

Kim, a former world champion and Olympic team gold medallist at Rio 2016, defeated Russia's Artem Makhnenko 7-1 in the last four.

Jongho, meanwhile, thrashed Canada's Crispin Duenas 6-0 to set up an all-Korean final.

The two losing semi-finalists are due to compete in the bronze medal match.

There is also a South Korean presence in the women's recurve final as Chae Young Kang defeated compatriot Hye Jin Chang 6-4 to reach the gold medal match.

She is now scheduled to play Mexico's Alejandra Valencia after she overcame Ukrainian Veronika Marchenko 7-1.

Recently crowned Wrocław 2017 World Games gold medallist Stephan Hansen of Denmark is through to the men's compound final.

He defeated Braden Gellenthien of the United States 150-147 in the semi-finals.

Awaiting him in the gold medal match is Demir Elmaagacli of Turkey after he saw off American Steve Anderson 148-146.

Denmark's Sarah Sonnichsen, who partnered with Hansen to win the mixed team World Games gold last month, is through to the final of the women's compound event.

She defeated Mexico's Linda Ochoa-Anderson 146-143, while Turkey's Yesim Bostan beat The Netherlands' Sanne De Laat 144-142 to also progress.

After qualification and elimination phases of competition took place alongside the Olympiastadion, the final stages of the event will take place at Lilli-Henoch Sportplatz tomorrow and Sunday (August 13).

Archers have been hoping to secure their places at the Archery World Cup Final, due to take place in Rome on September 2 and 3.

Three of the four defending champions have sealed their places and by the end of the semi-finals today all 28 places for Rome were settled.

Reigning champions Ki Bo Bae of South Korea, Mike Schloesser of The Netherlands and American Brady Ellison are among those safely qualified for the event.
