France's Camille Serme claimed the women's squash title at the Wrocław 2017 World Games after comfortably beating Hong Kong's Joey Chan today.

Chan upset Malaysia's three-time World Games champion Nicol David yesterday but failed to match that performance 24 hours later at the Hasta La Vista Squash Center.

Serme won bronze in Cali four years ago and has since moved up to third in the world rankings and won the British Open, US Open and the Tournament of Champions.

Her class shone through as she claimed an emphatic 11-4, 11-3, 11-4 victory.

David recovered from her disappointment yesterday by beating Great Britain's Fiona Moverley 11-4, 11-8, 11-3 for bronze.

Top seed in the men's event, Simon Rosner of Germany, lived up to his pre-tournament favourite tag by winning gold.

After winning silver in Cali four years ago, Rosner went one step further and won the title by beating France's Gregoire Marche 15-13, 11-6, 9-11, 11-8.

Another Frenchman won bronze as Mathieu Castagnet defeated Peru's Diego Elias 14-12, 12-10, 11-8.

There was a busy day of jiu-jitsu action with no less than 12 gold medals awarded at the GEM Sports Complex.

Titles were split between 11 nations but France managed to claim a double, including the first of the night.

Haidar Raza Abbas defeated Poland's Maciej Polok to win the men's 69 kilograms ne-waza gold medal.

Severine Nebie Atio then doubled France's tally for the evening when she beat Italian Annalisa Cavarretta to take the women's 62kg fighting crown.

There could have been three more gold medals for the French but they were forced to settle for silvers.

Frederic Grevais Eugene Husson was beaten by Morocco's Seif Eddine Houmine in the men's over-94kg ne-waza final.

Laure Murielle Emille Beauchet Ep Doucet was also a beaten French finalist after falling to Denmark's Rebekka Elisabeth Ziska Dahl in the gold medal match of the women's 55kg fighting competition. 

Germany's Theresa Attenberger also defeated French opposition. 

She beat Chloe Lalande to win women's 70kg fighting gold.

There was delight for the host nation in the men's 62kg ne-waza event as Jedrzej Loska overcame Jairo Alejandro Viviescas Ortiz of Colombia. 

Viviescas Ortiz then had to settle for silver once again after falling to Ukrainian Bohdan Mochulskyi in the men's 62kg fighting final.

Belgium's Amal Amjahid secured the women's 55kg ne-waza title after seeing off Mongolian Bayarmaa Munkhgerel.

Ilke Kubilay Bulut of Switzerland then prevented Belgium from winning a second gold in as many bouts as he defeated Wim Deputter to win men's 77kg ne-waza honours.

Mexico's Dan Melvin Schon Weinberg beat Switzerland's Daniel de Maddalena in the final of the men's 85kg ne-waza category. 

The final individual title of the night went to Faisal Alketbi of the United Arab Emirates. 

He saw off Hungary's Kristof Szucs to win the men's 94kg ne-waza gold.

Italy's Michele Vallieri and Sara Paganini claimed the mixed duo title after defeating the German pairing of Johannes Tourbeslis and Julia Paszkiewicz.

Two gold medals were awarded in archery today at Szczytnicki Park.

Hungary's Istvan Kakas claimed the men's barebow title after beating John Demmer III of the United States 54-51 in the final.

Bronze went to Sweden's Martin Ottosson after he narrowly beat Spaniard David Garcia Fernandez 53-51.

Italian Cinzia Noziglia won the women's equivalent.

Her score of 49 in the final sealed gold after her opponent, Sweden's Lina Bjorklund, could only manage a 45.

Martina Mackova of the Czech Republic comfortably beat Slovenia's Tina Gutman 51-41 to win bronze.

Today's medal action concluded with two dance finals this evening at Centennial Hall.

Colombia secured a 1-2 in the salsa final with Yinessa Ortega and Stevens Rebolledo taking gold with a score of 37.54 points.

Compatriots Adriana Avila and Yefersson Benjumea finished narrowly behind in second on 37.21 while Italian duo Simone Sanfilippo and Serena Maso completing the podium on 36.04.

German duo Benedetto Ferruggia and Claudia Koehler combined to win the quickstep gold medal.

They posted a score of 38.75 to finish top of the standings.

Russia's Dmitry Zharkov and Olga Kulikova finished second on 38.06 while Lithuania's Evaldas Sodeika and Ieva Zukauskaite completed the top three on 37.13.
