The six days of competition at Down Grange Sports Complex will see a full format of overall competition comprising accuracy, discathon, disc golf, distance, double disc caught, freestyle and self caught flight.

Overall world titles will also be up for grabs for players who compete in three or more of the disciplines in a number of men’s and women’s categories, such as open, masters, grand masters, senior grand masters, legends and juniors.

The Freestyle Championship, which for the first time is featuring on a standalone basis as well as within the overall format, is due to be held on July 28 and 29.

The participant list includes some of the best male, female and junior-level freestylers in the world from 12 countries - Canada, Chinese Taipei, Czech Republic, Germany, Great Britain, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Sweden and the United States.

Many of them are preparing for the upcoming Freestyle Players Association World Championships, scheduled to take place in Italian city Udine from August 3 to 6.

Making up hosts Britain’s team are Rob Hamilton, Phil Harrison, Jennie Lewis, Dazza Locke, Tracy Hamilton, Shaun Lewis, Paul Nickless, Allen Gilbert and Emily Hamilton.

Grandmasters Charlie Mead and Derek Robins complete the line-up.

Basingstoke was chosen to stage the event ahead of other "very strong bids" from the European, North American and Asian regions, according to the WFDF.

This year’s event will be the 13th edition of the WFDF Overall Championships.

Norrköping in Sweden staged the last edition of the tournament in 2015.
