A "capacity building" workshop has been held by the Swaziland Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (SOCGA).

The event, held in conjunction with the Swaziland National Sports and Recreational Council, brought together 54 secretary generals and treasurers from sporting governing bodies across the African country.

Held at the Olympafrica Sports Development Centre in Lobamba, those present were able to learn about the SOCGA and the Council.

Policies and procedures for the period leading up to 2020 were among the topics discussed.

Swaziland's Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, David Ngcamphalala, was among those present.

He was joined by SOCGA President Peter Shongwe, who was elected into his role by just a single vote in January, and Council chairman Lawrence Mthethwa.

Swaziland has participated at 11 Olympic Games since Munich 1972 but are yet to win a medal.

The country sent a two-strong team of sprinters to last month's Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Phumlile Ndzinisa participated in the heats of the women's 100 metres while Sibusiso Matsenjwa did likewise in the 200m.
