Yankov, the defending overall parallel World Cup champion, triumphed in the first competition on Friday (February 3) but tumbled out of the gold medal race today.

He nearly took out opponent Sylvain Dufour but the Frenchman managed to avoid collision to take gold.

Stefan Baumeister of Germany won the small final against Benjamin Karl of Austria to seal bronze.

Yankov has now finished on the podium four times this season and has 3,520 points on top of the overall standings.

Karl is second on 3,140 with Nevin Galmarini of Switzerland third on 2,636.50.

The women's competition was won by Russian Alena Zavarzina who beat Swiss snowboarder Patrizia Kummer in the big final.

Bronze was won by Tomoka Takeuchi of Japan thanks to small final success against Cheyenne Loch of Germany.

Zavarzina had not featured on the podium this season since a bronze at the opening leg in Carezza in Italy in December, while Kummer had to make do with silver after winning the opening competition in Bansko.

Ester Ledecka of the Czech Republic still leads the overall standings with 3,060 points, with Zavarzina now second on 2,740.

Third is occupied by Kummer on 2,680.

The sixth leg of the World Cup season will take place in Bokwang in South Korea on February 12.

The venue will be used for the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics, although parallel racing was removed from the Games programme.
