National Olympic Committee of Cape Verde (COC) President Filomena Fortes met with the newly elected head of the country's tennis governing body to discuss future collaboration.

Fortes held an hour-long meeting with José Almada Dias, President of the Cape Verde Tennis Federation.

It allowed Dias to understand how the COC operates, and he also took the opportunity to suggest future tennis projects in Cape Verde.

Fortes expressed a willingness to promote tennis in the African island nation with the duo exchanging ideas.

Dias won an election to become the tennis President earlier this month.

Cape Verde has never had a tennis representative at the Olympic Games, having competed at every summer edition since Atlanta 1996.

At Rio 2016 in August, the country sent a team of five across four sports.
