Belgium’s Kenny De Ketele and Moreno De Pauw claimed victory at the Six Day Series in Amsterdam after remaining in the lead in the deciding madison.

The duo, who have held the lead since day one, ended on a total of 587 points.

This put them 33 clear of second placed Germans Leif Lampater and Marcel Kalz.

Switzerland's Tristan Marguet and Claudio Imhoff were the only other duo to gain over 500 points over the six days as their haul of 534 proved good enough for third.

Pim Ligthart and Jens Mouris led the Dutch charge in fourth on 469 points.

Elinor Barker, a member of the Olympic gold medal winning team pursuit squad, emerged victorious in the corresponding women's competition.

She won with 38 points to finish 14 clear of Italy's Maria Giulia Confalonieri.

Trine Schmidt claimed a home bronze medal for The Netherlands a further three points behind.

"The standard of racing has been very high so it is good to get some race practice as well," Barker said afterwards.

"I'm very happy to get the win."
