Colombian Carlos Lopez triumphed in a jump-off featuring seven combinations to win the latest leg of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) World Cup Jumping Western European League in La Coruña in Spain.

Riding Admara, Lopez went double clear and clocked the fastest time of 37.84sec in the jump-off to clinch victory.

Jane Richard Philips of Switzerland was second on Pablo de Virton in a time of 38.21sec, with German Ludger Beerbaum clinching third place on board Casello after stopping the clocks at 38.58sec.

The top four all went clear twice.

"I thought we might finish second or third after our jump-off round today," said Lopez.

"I wasn’t expecting to win."

France's Kevin Staut leads the overall standings on 56 points, with Swiss Romain Duguet second on 43.

Another rider from Switzerland, Steve Guerdat, is third on 42.

The next leg of the series takes place at London Olympia on December 18.
