Great Britain claimed their second gold medal of the 2016 International Swimming Federation (FINA) World Junior Diving Championships after Katherine Torrance claimed the girls A one metre springboard title at the Aquatics Palace in Kazan.

The 2015 European Games champion posted a score of 413.90 points to hold off the challenge of home favourite Tatiana Stepanova, second with 413.05, and Canada’s Olivia Chamandy, third with 399.95.

"I have no words to describe my feelings - I just wanted to try if I could, and it turned out to go pretty well," said Torrance who helped Britain triumph in the mixed team event on Monday (November 28).

"I led at the prelims and I saw there was a possibility to proceed in the same path.

"I did my best, but I respect my opponents a lot.

"Stepanova is very strong.

"I love the way she dives."
