The National Paralympic Committee (NPC) of Denmark have started the search for a new head coach of their wheelchair rugby team.

Denmark is currently ranked eighth in the world wheelchair rugby rankings and third in Europe.

At the International Wheelchair Rugby Federation (IWRF) 2015 European Championship in Pajulaht in Finland, the Danish team claimed the bronze medals.

However, the NPC of Denmark has now turned its attention to global success and wants to send a Danish team to the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

The body also wants teams to be competing for medal winning positions in the near future after missing out on the Rio 2016 Games.

"NPC Denmark is seeking a new national head coach, and welcomes applications from all sections of the wheelchair rugby community," read a statement on their website.

"This exciting and long-term oriented task requires a high level of communication skills, dedication and a great deal of flexibility.

"Distinctive knowledge, and the ability to coach wheelchair rugby, is of a very high importance."

The role includes responsibility for the national team and other programmes attached to it, as well as squad training and management at international competitions.

Applications must be sent to Paralympic sports manager, Gregers Lehrmann Bruun, before the closing date of November 13.
