Outdoor sports company LEKI has partnered with the British Alpine skiing squad as the official supplier of poles for the upcoming 2016-17 season.

Many of the British senior, under-21 and under-18 athletes will be able to benefit from the new agreement, including elite skiers Dave Ryding and Alex Tilley.

Lillian Sullivan, on behalf of LEKI, said:  “We’re very excited to be involved with the British Alpine squad.

"They are a high performing team and we are proud to be able to support them throughout the forthcoming season.

"Together we think we make a great team.”

Max Baggio, the current men’s overall British champion, added: “Good quality poles like LEKI give you confidence every time you go out on the slopes.

"They’re strong, light and reliable for everyday use, allowing me to fully focus on my training without any worries.

"The LEKI Venom Carbon poles used by the British team provide a feeling of assurance so you can go as hard and as fast as you like, always knowing they can stand the strain throughout the season whether training or racing: a necessary piece of kit for a winning season."

British Ski and Snowboard (BSS), the sports' national governing body, is looking to continue the recent success of Britain’s elite skiers and snowboarders this season.

Being within the Olympic qualification period for the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympic Games, athletes will be working harder than ever to challenge for podiums on the international stage.

The LEKI Venom has been a favourite for other athletes competing on the World Cup circuit.

These poles feature high-strength aluminium uppers, with a strengthened-carbon lower segment making them light yet strong.
