The US Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) has announced that Brian Krill will be stepping down from his role as director of sport education.

Krill, who has worked in the USSA for three-years, is set to become the executive director of the Jackson Hole Ski and Snowboard Club.

He will fill the position vacated by Carrie Boyton in 2015 when he officially assumes his new role in August.

“My time with USSA has been inspiring, and I am very proud of the work that we all did to further establish club development at USSA during a critical phase” said Krill.

“I’m looking forward to staying in the USSA family, remaining active with various USSA programs and focusing on the club, athletes, coaches and parents in Jackson.”

During his time at the USSA, Krill served as the organisation’s club development manager where he rolled out a programme to help advance clubs throughout the country.

A total of 36 clubs have taken part in the development programme, which includes a model for club certification, while the USSA claim a similar number are using the process and its resources to movement closer to eventual certification.

Krill was promoted to director of sport education last year, where he oversaw coach education and the annual club excellence conference, as well as continuing to look after club development and certification.

The organisation have promised that the programmes put in place by Krill are due to continue, despite his departure, with several clubs expected to complete the club certification process in the forthcoming season.

“The energy and dedication that Brian has put in to create educational resources for our clubs and coaches and help them establish best practices and principles at their home hills has been outstanding,” said Tiger Shaw, USSA President and chief executive

“The Jackson Ski and Snowboard club is a strong USSA programme  and the work Brian has done at USSA will help bring the club to the next level.”
