Morocco booked the last available Rio 2016 Paralympic Games berth as they successfully defended their International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) Blind Football African Championships title with a 2-0 win over hosts Cameroon in Douala.

Despite having home advantage, the Cameroonians were no match for the Moroccans, who were led by player of the tournament Hattab as they dominated proceedings from start to finish on their way to clinching gold.

Mali finished third after they edged Senegal 1-0 in a tight bronze medal encounter, while Ivory Coast beat Egypt by the same scoreline in the fifth-place play-off.

The result sees Morocco become the eighth and final side to secure their spot in the five-a-side blind football tournament in the Brazilian city next year.

They will join hosts Brazil, who won gold in the event at the London 2012 Paralympic Games, reigning world champions Argentina, Iran, China, Turkey, Russia and Mexico in the competition.

After topping Group B, the Moroccan side overcame Mali 1-0 in their semi-final, while Cameroon proved too strong for Senegal in their last four contest.

Both matches were watched by legendary Cameroonian footballer Roger Milla, who found the net 37 times in 63 appearances for his country.

He was integral to his nation becoming the first African side to reach the World Cup quarter-finals, scoring four goals at the 1990 tournament in Italy.

Milla, who played for a number of French clubs during his stellar career including Montpellier and Bastia, is also well-known for his goal celebration, which involved dancing around the corner flag.
