The SNOC have announced a six-year extension to their deal with Yonex distributors Sunrise ©SNOCThe Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC) have announced they have extended their partnership with Yonex distributing company Sunrise by a further six years.

The SNOC have been working closely with Sunrise for 42 years and the deal will see Team Singapore athletes continue to wear Yonex branded clothing up to and including the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Under the agreement, Sunrise will provide clothing, including Yonex polo tee-shirts, shorts, thermal gear, luggage gear and head wear, as well as water bottles and outer wear for aquatic sports.

The deal was signed by SNOC secretary general Chris Chan along with Sunrise Sunrise's head of group business development Harinder Garga, and was witnessed by SNOC President Tan Chuan-Jin among other guests at the Singapore Sports Hub.

"The partnership between the Singapore National Olympic Council and Sunrise is one which has stood the test of time and the uncertainties of the economy over the last 42 years," Chan said.

"In good or bad times, Sunrise and Yonex have always been there to support the SNOC and Singapore athletes and officials.

"I believe this partnership is the longest-standing sponsorship in Singapore, and we look forward to many more years ahead working with Sunrise and Yonex."

The deal means Singaporean athletes, who will compete in the Rio 2016 and 2020 Olympic Games, as well as the 2015, 2017 and 2019 editions of the Southeast Asian Games and also 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and the Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast will all be kitted out in Yonex clothing .

"It is gives us great pride for us to extend Yonex's four decades-old partnership with the Singapore National Olympic Council," Jimmy Seth said on behalf of the Sunrise company.

"This means Team Singapore will be wearing Yonex-branded apparel at all major international Games for another six years beginning with the upcoming 2015 SEA Games at home and culminating at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games."
