The launch of the survey comes after the European Paralympic Committee (EPC) and the European University Sports Association (EUSA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The agreement is intended to provide greater opportunities for higher education students with disabilities and impairments in the EUSA programme, especially in the framework of the European Universities Games, and the establishment of cooperation between the members at a national level.

The third edition of the European Universities Games are scheduled to take place in the Croatian cities of Zagreb and Rijeka from July 12 to 23 in 2016.

Rotterdam hosted the second edition of the Games earlier this year that saw 2,830 participants from 280 university teams, representing 174 universities from 34 countries in Europe take part.

The athletes competed across 10 sports, badminton, basketball, football, futsal, handball, rowing, rugby sevens, table tennis, tennis and volleyball.

The inaugural Games were held in Cordoba, Spain, in 2012.

In a bid to open the Games up to students with disabilities, EUSA member federations and European NPCs are being asked to complete a short survey regarding sport and students with disabilities and impairments.
