After a fierce battle at Arena Fyn, both sides could not be separated at the final hooter sending the match into extra-time.

After starring for Britain throughout, Ajaz Bhuta turned the ball over to Canadian danger man Zak Madell in the second period of extra time and he made no mistake by landing the all-important score to win the match 59-58 for Canada.

"That was a crazy game," said a relieved Madell.

"At the end everyone was giving it everything they had and we managed to pull out the win.

"Our mental toughness was key in no one losing hope in that game and everyone kept fighting."

Elsewhere in Group A, reigning Paralympic champions Australia continued their fine form in Odense with another impressive outing against Finland.

A 63-43 win was their fourth of the tournament and sees them top the group on points difference ahead of the Canadians, who they meet tomorrow in a match that will decide who finishes first and second in the group.

"Things are going to plan so far," said Australian captain Ryan Scott.

"We were expecting that this match against Canada would decide Group A.

"GB almost caused an upset, but here we are.

"We're ready for the challenge.

"It's going to be tough.

"We have got it over Canada at the moment I guess, and we're very confident that we can do the job against them.

"But we are well aware that it is going to a battle.

"It's going to be a war."

In Group B, the United States and Japan will also meet in a group decider as both sides maintained their 100 per cent records.

Defending champions the US crushed Germany 62-28, while Japan overcame France 56-44.

US captain Andy Cohn believes his side are coming into form at the right time and are going into tomorrow's clash with Japan full of confidence.

"The USA team is really united and it is the best team chemistry I have ever seen but we are still a work in progress and we are still trying to get better," said Cohn.

"Everybody here is ready to play so if we need somebody at the end of the game we can go to anybody on our bench."

Elsewhere in Group B, European champions Sweden picked up their first win of the tournament with a 55-49 over New Zealand.

Tomorrow will see the final round of group matches take place, with the Championships scheduled to last until Sunday (August 10).
