23:30 There will be more chances for Scottish medals tomorrow, as well as for everyone else. Check out the insidethegames live blog at 09:00 for all the best of the action on day six. Until then, it is good night from us.

23:29 But most of all, for the home fans at least, day five will be remembered as the day Scotland broke their all-time Commonwealth Games gold medal haul. This was achieved by Alex Marshall and Paul Foster in the lawn bowls, before Libby Clegg won on the track as well.

"To be in this position after only five days of competition is simply phenomenal. All the work done by experts at the sportscotland institute of sport, the Team Scotland support staff, and coaches ensured the team was the best ever prepared for a Commonwealth Games, but it is still down to every individual athlete to go out and perform to their best on the day.
The performances have been incredible, so it is a big 'well done' to all of the medallists so far. We now look forward to seeing the action unfold over the remaining six days of competition – and to cheering on our athletes to a new record for Team Scotland."

- Scotland now has a total of 33 medals, including 13 gold. That matches the total they won at Edinburgh in 1986, the last occasion the Commonwealth Games were staged in Scotland. But back then Scotland won only three gold medals and many of the others were devalued because of the number of countries who boycotted the event.

23:28 It was a wonderful evening of action in the pool and on the track, with Kemar Bailey-Cole and Blessing Okagbare winning the crucial 100m titles. There was English, Aussie and South African double-success in the pool and wins elsewhere for Malaysia, Singapore and England in racket sports.

Women's boxing at the Commonwealth Games

"Nicola Adams is a great ambassador for her sport and thoroughly enjoyed her historic outing here tonight. But Glasgow 2014 have let her down by scheduling her fight in the graveyard shift. Surely the women's bouts should have opened the evening at 6.30pm when they would have earned maximum exposure?"

23:23 Adams has her rival on the ropes again in the final round but Oladeji manages to wiggle out of it. But the contest ends with her on the ropes again, arms up defending herself. The judges' decision to award the fight to Adams is met with loud cheers. Adams looks just as intense here as she did during London 2012.

23:18 Adams has Oladeji on the ropes in the third round, catching her full-on with a couple of upper cuts, and is skilfully avoiding the few punch's the Nigerian throws.

23:12 At the end of the first round Adams strides confidently back to her corner. Really sad to see so many empty seats here.

23:07 Nicola Adams up next, the class fighter of this competition. She faces Nigerian Oluwatoyin Oladeji. The departure of most of the Scots fans earlier means it is almost an exclusively English arena.

23:04 The bell rings for the end of the contest between Ongare and Harris. The judges give the unanimous decision to the Australian.

22:58 Next up it's Kenya's Christine Ongare against Australia's Kristy Harris. Ongare is a 21-year-old from Nairobi. Harris is also 21 from Geelong and financed part of her training expenses for these Games through a crowd-funding request on Starstadium.com.

22:52 That's the end of the first women's boxing match in Commonwealth Games history. Northern Ireland's Walsh, wearing red, punches the air as Katy Perry's "you're gonna hear me roar" plays over the loudspeakers. Walsh is right to celebrate as all three judges give her the verdict.

22:47 At the end of the second round Dame Mary Peters, the 1972 Olympic pentathlon champion and Northern Ireland's greatest ever sportswomen, is introduced to the crowd. They respond with a suitably good reception.

Unlike the men, the women also box for four rounds, although they are only two minutes long. We are now into the final round with Walsh seemingly comfortably on top.

22:42 Walsh looks clearly the better fighter, landing some good blows on Dumas. Perhaps we should not be surprised as she is coached by Peter Taylor, father of Katie, the Irishwoman who won the women's lightweight Olympic gold medal at London 2012 and is considered the greatest female amateur boxer in history.

Here they come. Northern Ireland's Michaela Walsh and Mauritius' Thessa Dumas for the first women's boxing match in the 84-year history of the Commonwealth Games. An historic moment spoiled only by fact it is taking place in a half-full arena. But the crowd who are here give the fighters a cracking reception. Unlike the men, the women are still required to wear headguards, which the fighter's trainers are currently putting on...

22:36 All the medals-action is now over for the evening, but we have women's boxing about to star, for the first time ever at a Commonwealth Games. Before we go to that, a quick hockey result. New Zealand beat South Africa 2-1 in the women's competition.

22:26 On our previous live blog in Sochi, a Jamaican flag meant a brave effort by the island's bobsleigh team. But they have been competing at their true sport tonight and have duly won the 100m title for the third successive Commonwealth Games.

Jamaica was also responsible for the only other streak of three consecutive wins in this event. Don Quarrie won it in 1970, 1974 and 1978. And the last Games that two athletes from the same nation were on the podium in the men's 100m, was Edinburgh 1986, when Linford Christie and Mike McFarlane clinched silver and bronze respectively.

That would be a shame on such an historic occasion."

Kemar Bailey-Cole secures Jamaican gold over 100m

22:10 Bailey-Cole has a PB of 9.93, set last year. He was part of the Jamaican 4 x 100m relay quartet which won gold at London 2012, although he only ran in the heat. He did run in the final the following year, however, as Jamaica won the World Championship title in Moscow. He also came fourth in the 100m at those Championships.

But this is by far the biggest individual win of the 22-year-old's career.

Bailey-Cole ran that race rather like Usain Bolt does. A good start for someone so tall and then he powered away in the second half, using his long strides to perfection. He was the best runner in the field, but the challenge was about delivery and he did that superbly. Adam Gemili did all he could to put pressure on him, and should be proud of silver. he is turning into a superb Championship performer. And it is the Englishman who gets the loudest cheer from the crowd as the result is confirmed. When was Hampden Park last cheering this loudly I wonder?"

21:54 Kemar Bailey-Cole wins the men's 100m final after stopping the clock at 10:00, the exact same time he managed in the semi-final.

Superb by Adam Gemili of England. He led at halfway but held on for silver in 10.10. Nikel Ashmeade of Jamaica is awarded bronze in 10.12. Then it is Adams, Jelks, Livermore, Fraser and Gittens.

21:50 So, the men's 100m final. Gemili in lane four, Bailey-Cole in five and Livermore in six look the lanes to watch.

"It's a familiar record at Tollcross as the Australian national anthem plays out across the speakers. The podium is filled with the colours green and gold and a huge Aussie contingent celebrate the second Australian clean sweep of the night as Cate Campbell collects her 100m freestyle gold. Action is over here in the pool with just the men's butterfly medal ceremony left to keep the crowds entertained. Interestingly tonight, Australia only won two of the eight gold medals on offer, however, these golds were accompanied by silver and bronze in their respective events."

Weightlifting gold for New Zealand

21:44 He left us all waiting to the very end but New Zealand's Richard Patterson has taken gold with his final attempt at 184kg in the clean and jerk to register a total of 335kg in the men's 85kg weightlifting competition.

The bearded New Zealander was last onto the stage and had failed with his first two attempts at 184kg but he nailed it when the pressure was on to become Commonwealth Games champion.

The 31-year-old goes one better than his silver in Delhi four years ago while India's Vikash Thakur and Pascal Plamondon of Canada lifted a total of 333kg - but silver goes to the lighter Thakur.

A bit of cheer in Glasgow as Blessing Okagbare wins Women 100m gold medal. Gloomy day in Kano State after a day of bomb blasts #Nigeria
- Arukaino Umukoro 's tweet shows how sport can bring a smile to a nation facing huge challenges elsewhere.

Okagbare came third in the long jump at Beijing 2008 and won a silver medal in that event at the 2013 World Championships. She's also won three events on the Diamond League circuit this year - one in the long jump and two over 200m. But it's the shorter sprint she has excelled in tonight.

21:37 Blessing Okagbare of Nigeria wins the women's 100m. A powerful start and an equally superb finish. She never looked like being beaten, and stop the clock at 10.85 for the Commonwealth Games record to boot!

Veronica Campbell-Brown runs 11.03 for second and Kerron Stewart manages a season's best 10.07 for bronze. So a 2-3 for Jamaica but not the win they so wanted.

21:34 So, it's time for the first of the two 100m finals. Will it be the Nigerian, or one of the Jamaicans or someone else? Campbell-Brown has the experience, but Okagbare the form...

Boxing without headgear?

"Currently at the SECC we are watching the men's welterweight bouts, which is certainly made more interesting by fact that the boxers are fighting for the first time at a Commonwealth Games without headgear. The move is controversial but among those here in the arena backing the initiative is Barry McCuigan, the 'Clones Cyclone', winner of the gold medal for Northern Ireland in the bantamweight division at Edmonton in 1978.

"He said, "It's interesting because it's the first time without headguards, which is great. I love that. It's added another element of skill to the boxing. You've got an inch on either side of your head with a headguard, which means there's less of a propensity to slip punches because you know you're likely to get caught with a jab.

"Without the headguard, it's far more interesting as you get to see the head movement and the body movement. It's added a whole new level of excitement to the boxing game.'"

21:32 A Commonwealth Games record for South Africa's Chad le Clos as he wins the men's 100m butterfly in a time of 51.20 seconds.

Behind him are Singapore's Joseph Schooling and England's Adam Barrett in second and third respectively. A certain royal couple enjoyed that one...

Closing stages of the weightlifting

"As the grunting and vein bulging continues here at the Clyde Auditorium Canada's Pascal Plamandon laid down the gauntlet to New Zealand's Richard Patterson and Indian Vikash Thakur as he took the lead with a 182kg in the clean and jerk. However, Thakur has answered him with 183kg to take the lead with a total score of 333kg. Patterson is has three attempts now at 184kg to regain the initiative."

21:29 Damian Warner, the overall leader, wins the final heat of the decathlon 400m. The Canadian runs a swift 47.78 for 4,378 points overall. John Lane remains second overall after placing second in that same heat behind David Guest of Wales. Kurt Felix of Grenada remains third overnight.

Swimming and athletics medals action

21:25 Another one, two, three for Australia as Cate Campbell sets a Games record in the women's 100m freestyle.

Her time of 52.68 was just ahead of team mate and sister Bronte Campbell.
Fellow Australian Emma McKeon came in third. England's Fran Hallsall is fourth in a high quality contest.

21:17 Cameron Van der Burgh of South Africa became the first athlete to win two gold medals in men's 50m breaststroke, after repeating his success at Delhi 2010.

This was also his third gold medal at the Games, equal to compatriot Chad le Clos. Only Roland Schoeman has more for South Africa, four.

21:11 We are focusing overwhelmingly on the swimming and athletics here. But a quick update on the hockey, where New Zealand lead South Africa in the first half of their women's encounter.

21:04 That shot put gold for Richards is Jamaica's first gold of Glasgow 2014 in any sport.

Slightly ironic that it came in a field event rather than a sprint. But it continues a remarkable record for the island nation, that has now won 40 of its 43 Commonwealth Games gold medals in athletics.

"A brief interlude from the action for the medals ceremony but there's a rustle and bustle of anticipation in this old football stadium. We may be lacking the likes of Bolt, Blake and Fraser-Pryce, but a 100m final is a 100m. The biggest event on any Commonwealth programme is almost upon us. For the women, the question is whether Okagbare can hold off a formidable Jamaican trio. For the men, it's anyone's guess, but Bailey-Cole does seem the class act, if he can get it right. It is a big if."

20:54 A Commonwealth Games record in the pool as South Africa's Cameron van der Burgh wins the men's 50m breaststroke.

His time of 26.76 seconds is just 0.02 ahead of England's Adam Peaty in second.

Australia's Christian Sprenger is third in 27.46.

20:45 Fanie van der Merwe of South Africa wins the T37 100m, leading home a South Africa 1-2 ahead of Charl du Toit in a time of 11.65 seconds.

Wales's Rhys Jones won bronze despite fading slightly after a rapid start.

"The first women's contest will be between Northern Ireland's Michaela Walsh, a 21-year-old from Belfast, and Thessa Dumas, a 20-year-old from Mauritius. The bout the crowd are most looking forward to, however, is the last of the three fights which features Nicola Adams. The Englishwoman will be facing a 26-year-old Nigerian called Oluwatoyin Oladeji. Her best result was third at the African Championships earlier this year. On a paper it should be a straightforward first round victory for Adams."

That's Jamaica's first athletics gold and he does it in style with a 21.61m heave for a Games record mark.

Tom Walsh of New Zealand is second with Tim Nedow of Canada taking bronze

"The situation here at a packed and enthusiastic Clyde Auditorium is that New Zealander Richard Patterson is currently in the lead after the snatch discipline. The man from Down Under has registered a lift of 151kg, matching that of Canada's Pascal Plamandon, but leads by virtue of being the lighter man in the 85kg category competition. India's Vikas Thakur is in third place with a lift of 150kg. The clean and jerk is just about to get underway so it's all to play for. The women's 69kg competition will follow later."

20:38 Another gold at Tollcross as Canada's Audrey Lacroix takes top honours in the women's 200m butterfly with a time of 2:07.61

England's Aimee Willmott wins silver in 2:08.47, while Maddie Groves of Australia secures the bronze.

20:30 And it's gold in the pool for England's Sophie Taylor!

The English swimmer takes the women's 100m breaststoke gold in 1:06.35 ahead of Australia's Lorna Tonks.

Jamaica's Alia Atkinson wins the bronze.

20:20 Gold on the field as Canada's Sultana Frizell wins the women's hammer throw.

The Canadian has dominated this event, winning with a throw of 71.97m to defend the title she won four years ago in Delhi.

Julia Ratcliffe of New Zealand finishes in second with England's Sophie Hitchon in third.

20:17 There's been a first gold at Hampden Park with Scotland's Libby Clegg wining the T12 100m final.

The Scot finished the distance in 12.20 seconds, more than a second faster than Maria Elisa Muchavo of Mozambique in second.

Namibia's Lahja Ishitile collects the bronze.

20:15 It appears Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge have moved away from The Hydro and made their way to the Tollcross International Swimming Centre with the pair just walking directly beside the press tribunes.

I was half tempted to "pull a Roz" and ask for a selfie with the Royal couple.

19:55 Away from the pool for a minute for some news on women's boxing.

"Women's boxing will make its Commonwealth Games debut at the SECC tonight, with the first round of the flyweight competition including a bout involving the Olympic gold medallist Nicola Adams.

Women's boxing proved a success at London 2012, with a series of competitive contests which culminated in Adams' superb demolition of the Chinese world champion Ren Cancan to claim gold, the first female Olympic champion in history. The Commonwealth programme is not expected to offer quite so much strength in depth and the English trio of Adams, Natasha Jonas and the reigning world middleweight champion Savannah Marshall will start as strong favourites for gold."

19:49 Kemar Bailey-Cole stops the clock at 10:00 for the quickest time of the day to win the final semi-final of the men's 100m. Warren Fraser of the Bahamas won the first one, before Adam Gemili, the 2012 world junior champion whose broke the 20 second barrier over 200m last year, won the second in 10:07. Nickel Ashmeade and Jason Livermore of Jamaica join them in the final, along with Mark Jelks of Nigeria, Ramon Gittens of Barbados and Antoine Adams of St Kitts and Nevis.

That will be the finale later on this evening.

19:47 A superb effort by Hynd in that 200m individual medley final, the crowd urged him on and he did not disappoint.

It was also good to see Sri Lanka's Amilla Kumarasiri cheered home by this brilliant support here inside the Tollcross with the Sri Lankan over a lap behind the rest of the field.

19:45 And England's Oliver Hynd wins the gold!

The English swimmer finishes more than eight seconds ahead of Australia's Jess Aungles in a time of 2:22.86.

Another Aussie, Blake Cockane comes in third.

19:40 After a short break for the women's 800m freestyle medal ceremony it's back to the finals.

Next up is the men's Para-sport 200m SM8 individual medley.

19:36 There's a great atmosphere in Hampden Park as we wait for the men's semi-finals to begin. Canada's Sultana Frizell, meanwhile, has set a Games record of 70.55m to lead the women's hammer competition.

19:28 The two Jamaicans Schillonie Calvert and Veronica Campbell-Brown wins the opening two semi-finals of the 100m before Blessing Okagbare of Nigeria wins the third. She comfortably held off another Jamaican in Kerron Stewart and stops the clock in a swift 10.93.

She will take some beating in the final after that.

19:24 It's Welsh swimmer Jazz Carlin who takes gold in the 800m freestyle!

She clocks a Commonwealth Games record time of 8:18.11 to take the win.

Behind her is New Zealand's Lauren Boyle in 8:20.59 with Canada's Brittany Maclean just behind her in third.

19:15 Huge cheers at Tollcross now as Hannah Miley makes her way to the starters block. It's time for the women's 800m freestyle final!

There's a familiar sight. Mitch Larkin takes the win in 1:55.83, followed closely by team mates Josh Beaver and Matson Lawson.

There's no doubt we'll be seeing more of that this evening...

"I've just made it here to the Tollcross International Swimming Centre for the penultimate day of swimming action. There are eight gold medal finals in the pool this evening including the women's 800m freestyle, 100m breaststoke and 200m butterfly. First up, though, it's the men's 200m backstroke."

18:50 Gold for Malaysia

Jing Yi Tee seals a 2-0 win over England's Sarah Walker to secure a third consecutive badminton mixed team gold for Malaysia. Walker rallied late on as the crowd willed her to extend the excitement at the Emirates Arena but to no avail.

Victories in the men's singles and men's doubles also saw Malaysia record a 3-1 win.

England's solitary win came at the start of the match as Chris and Gabby Adcock took the mixed doubles.

However, England will no doubt be happy with an improvement on bronze from Delhi four years ago when they have time to reflect.

18:25 Sarah Walker's rescue plan for England is not going good as she slips to a 21-16 loss in game one of the women's singles match in the mixed team gold medal decider.

Jing Yi Tee is looking relaxed and strong and only needs one more game to secure a third Commonwealth Games gold for her country in this event.

Matthew creates history with his win at Scotstoun

18:15 Nick Matthew is the first squash player to win the men's singles title in successive Commonwealth Games after beating English team-mate James Willstrop in today's today. He is the third to win the men's or women's singles gold twice after Peter Nicol at Kuala Lumpur 1998 for Scotland and at Manchester 2006 for England, and Malaysia's Nicol David in the women's singles at Delhi 2010 and Glasgow 2014.

The three medal winners in the men's singles in Glasgow – Matthew, Willstrop and England's Peter Barker - also finished in this order at Delhi 2010.

"100 finals tonight at @Glasgow2014 should be good. Men and women's races both have no clear favorite. Competition! Love it" - American athletics legend Michael Johnson, here commentating for BBC, is looking forward to the athletics tonight

18:05 England slip 2-1 behind in badminton mixed team event as Wee Kiong Tan and Wei Shem Goh secure a 2-0 win over Chris Adcock and Andrew Ellis. The women's singles are next up and if Jing Yi Tee wins against Sarak Walker then Malaysia will have secured a third consecutive gold medal in the event.

"It wasn't easy, the wind was tricky. I was expecting to put in my best performance and luckily, it was. It was just a case of being calm, making good decisions and crossing my fingers. 17:50 Marie Fegue's victory in the women's 69kg event was Cameroon's first Commonwealth Games gold medal since weightlifter Madeleine Yamechi won at Manchester 2002. Fegue's victory was Cameroon's 10th gold medal in Games history, all having been won in weightlifting.

His team mate James Willstrop gave a commendable performance, coming from behind twice to level the tie, but it was the reigning world and Commonwealth champion who eventually took the tie 3-2.

Another Englishman, Peter Barker, secured the bronze earlier this afternoon with a win over India's Saurav Ghosal.

Chong squares things up for Malaysia

"Chong Wei Feng has tied things up at one match apiece here as he overcomes Rajiv Ouseph 2-1. Ouseph raced into a 9-5 lead as he seemed to grow in confidence which was illustrated by one sublime effort from the right side of the base-line when he rose to meet a high return from Chong. He shaped to hit a smash but inside arced his wrist to play a delicious cross-court semi drop-shot which left his opponent scrambling.
Chong was not done, however, bringing it back to 11-11 then taking the next four points as began to sense he was in with a real chance of victory. But once again the momentum swung as Ouseph reeled off a couple superb smashes on his way to levelling at 16-16
Back came the Malaysian again to reel off four straight points before Ouseph countered with three but Chong produced a stunning cross-court rocket down to the Englishman's left to take the game and level the match at 1-1.
Men's doubles up now as Chirs Adcock returns to the court alongside Andrew Ellis this time to take on Malaysian duo Wee Kiong Tan and Wei Shem Goh."

It is a great win - probably even more special being the Commonwealth Games gold medal. To actually win it for the second time round is such an amazing feat. Just to be out there, the crowd was amazing.
It's such a high being at the Commonwealth Games. It's the pinnacle of any squash multi-sport games to be winning this gold. I am really pleased to win this one.

The 23-year-old lifts heaviest in both the snatch and clean and jerk to score a total of 234kg.

That's 12kg ahead of second placed Itohan Ebireguesele of Nigeria.

Canada's Marie-Josee Ares-Pilon takes bronze with a total lift of 214kg.

16:26 After going 1-0 down Chong Wei Feng is beginning the Malaysian fight-back at the badminton as he takes game one 21-17 against England number one Rajiv Ouseph. The man from Kedah does not look one bit fazed by the overwhelming support for his opponent as he coolly gets on with business.

16:23 Gold in the women's trap for Australia's Laetisha Scanlan.

The Aussie shooter beat Cyprus' Georgia Konstantinidou in the gold medal final, hitting scoring 13 to her opponents 12.

England's Caroline Povey takes the bronze.

16:18 There's a gold medal across the way at Scotstoun as Singapore take gold in the men's team table tennis competition.

Despite England pulling a game back in the doubles, it was the Singaporean team of Clarence Chew, Gao Ning Li Hu and Zhan Jian who secured the win, beating Andrew Baggaley, Paul Drinkhall, Liam Pritchford, Danny Reed and Sam Walker of England 3-1 in the final.

Nigeria won bronze with their earlier victory over India.

Malaysia hits the half century.

16:04 Nicol David's gold medal in the women's squash final today was Malaysia's 50th gold medal in Commonwealth Games competition.

They become just the 11th nation to reach the feat with badminton proving their most rewarding sport, providing almost half of the overall golds with 24.

First blood to England in the badminton

16:00 A huge cheer erupts as Lei's effort snags the net and hands Chris and Gabby Adcock the win in the opening match here at the Emirates Arena. The English duo looked like they would be forced into a third game as Lei and Chan had game point on two occasions but the Adcocks dug in to take the game 28-26 and the match 2-0.

Next up is the men's singles match between Malaysia's 27-year-old Chong Wei Feng and Delhi 2010 silver medallist Rajiv Ouseph. Ouseph took a step closer to Daren Hall's all time record of 10 British men' singles titles back in February this year winning his seventh straight national crown.

15:53 A slight delay in the squash as Nick Matthew loses a contact lens.

Willstrop isn't too impressed by the break in play but then again the England maverick, who is sporting his traditional white bandanna, will be in a hurry to rectify the result of four years ago where he lost to Matthew in this exact same final.

15:47 The gold medal final of the men's squash singles competition is about to get underway at Scotstoun and it's an all-England affair with Team England Flagbearer and reigning world and Commonwealth Games champion Nick Matthew up against compatriot James Willstrop.

If Matthew wins this encounter it will be the first time in Commonwealth Games history that the men's and women's singles champions have both defended their titles.

- Scotland's Alex Marshall after claiming Scotland's record 12th gold medal with an easy win over Malaysia, a match set-up with a victory over old rivals England yesterday.

15:40 Scotland's hockey midfielder Niall Stott has been officially reprimanded for inappropriate physical conduct during his side's 4-3 victory against Wales at the Glasgow National Hockey Centre earlier today. His opponent Nicholas Rees suffered a cut to his face in the incident.

After video evidence was played the Appeal Jury found Stott had no intention to cause injury to Rees but had behaved inappropriately. The official reprimand has no immediate consequences.

We've had a few Royal sightings in Glasgow today with the Earl of Wessex, Prince Edward, seen at both the table tennis and squash this morning while the Earl and Countess of Strathearne aka William and Kate were caught watching gymnastics at the Hydro with Prince Harry.

15:22 A flying start at the Emirates from England's Chris and Gabby Adcock as they take the first game 21-14 against the Malaysians.

The opening exchanges have been highlighted by two superb cross-court smashes from Chris which found the far corner of the opponent's court like bullets from a gun.

The sun has gone in temporarily but there's still a lovely atmosphere here...which still reminds me incredibly of that at a county cricket match. 15:17 A standing ovation for Nicol David as the Malaysian secures gold in the women's squash singles final.

Despite a good start by England's Laura Massaro, David soon turned up the heat as she took the encounter 12-10, 11-2, 11-5.

England's early morning gold and bronze hopes have been shaved to just a single women's silver at the Scotstoun Sports Campus.

New Zealand's Joelle King took bronze in her earlier encounter with Alison Waters of England.

"The first badminton gold medal of Glasgow 2014 is set to be decided this afternoon as we are just minutes away from the start of the mixed team decider between Malaysia and England. Malaysia are the defending champions and they will be up against England who took bronze in Delhi four years ago.
The final will consist of five matches in each format – men's and women's singles and doubles as well as a mixed doubles. The missed doubles is first up here at the Emirates and sees Chan Peng Soon and Lai Pei Jing take of Malaysia take on husband and wife duo Chris and Gabby Adcock.

14:45 Singapore take a 2-0 lead against England in the best of five men's team final at Scotstoun Campus. World number 20 Ning Gao doubled the advantage with a 3-0 victory over number 55 Liam Pitchford.

Another victory for Australia after Scotland with record 12th gold

14:40 Australia's Warren Potent has won gold in the men's 50m rifle prone final at Barry Buddon. The Aussie scored 204.3 points to finish ahead of India's Gagan Narang on 203.6, while England's Kenneth Parr secures the bronze.

14:35 Good and bad news for England as they confirm their lawn bowls bronze medal with a 19-12 win over Namibia. But their women's hockey team trail 2-0 to Australia at half time.

Andrew Knapper and Sam Tolchard beat Namibia 19-12 in the bowls. Interestingly they actually won less ends than their opponents, but they made the big scores.

14:29 It is a record Commonwealth Games medal haul for Scotland! The hosts have now beaten the 11 golds they won at Melbourne in 2006. After five days!

It is fitting that it should be won by Alex Marshall, the Manchester 2002 and Melbourne 2006 pairs champion who is a record breaking five times World Indoor Singles Champion. Foster is not far behind. He has won four World Indoor titles and won pairs gold, with Marshall, at Melbourne 2006.

14:24 Reigning Commonwealth champions Singapore are currently 1-0 up in the men's team table tennis event after a 3-2 win for Jian Zhan over England's Paul Drinkhall. Liam Pritchford is 1-0 down in the second rubber but sits 8-2 up in the second. All to play for in that one...
