Today marks just a year to go until the start of the Gwangju 2015 Universiade ©Gwangju 2015With just one year to go until the start of the 2015 Gwangju Universiade, organisers have begun sending out official invitations to the member nations of the International University Sports Federation (FISU).

The official invitation has been signed by FISU President Claude-Louis Gallien, chairman of the Gwangju 2015 Organising Committee Yoon Jang-Hyun, and President of the Korean University Sports Board You Byong-Jin, and includes the registration form and the registration process for National Federations wishing to participate.

"Sending out the official invitations is the starting point of participation registration, so it is a meaningful milestone in the hosting of the Gwangju Universiade," said Kim Yoon-suk, secretary general of Gwangju 2015.

"This is the time to mobilise all the support from the citizens of Gwangju and host a successful Gwangju Universiade."

The invitation was sent to all 167 members of FISU with the National University Sports Federations (NUSF) of those that receive the invitations expected to submit the following:

• Intention of participation, nine months prior to the Games.

• General entry form, seven months prior to the Games.

• Quantitative entry form (definitive information about number of athletes), four months prior to the Games.

• Nominative/individual entry form (personal data about each member of the delegation), one month prior to the Games.

In order to accommodate the needs of the NUSFs, which are expected to increase with the distribution of these invitations, Gwangju 2015 organisers set up a NUSF Service Team.

The NUSF Service Team will accommodate the NUSFs on any visits prior to the Games as well as all related services, ranging from arrival and departure to competition scheduling.
