The agreement will see CBC/Radio Canada provide comprehensive daily coverage from the Games across television, radio and online.

CBC has a long history of broadcasting Commonwealth Games and was the host broadcaster for Vancouver 1954 when both John Landy and Sir Roger Bannister ran the famous "Miracle Mile" in under four minutes, becoming the first to do so.

CBC has also extensively covered Olympic Games and is the Canadian broadcast rights holder for Rio 2016.
